Wednesdays are always our favorite day to read the New York Times because of the Dining section, however today our interest was peaked by the national news with regard to Michelle Obama.  First Lady Obama is working to fight obsesity on a global scale, but since the weekend we have been curious — just what were they thinking of serving for the First Super Bowl Party.  Perhaps interesting treats from the White House organic garden? To find out we emailed the White House our question, and while we have yet to hear back the full menu, the trusty New York Times provided this window in today’s article about the Obama initiatives – enjoy!

…guests including Jennifer Lopez feasted on kielbasa, cheeseburgers, hot dogs and other fat-laden items. Mrs. Obama, an avid fan of French fries, took the position that all foods are fine — in moderation.  “It’s always about balance,” she said, adding: “I don’t even know what you’d have other than some hot dogs and some burgers for a Super Bowl party. That’s what the Super Bowl is.”
